I feel that the best benefit we got from acupuncture was learning acupressure points to help with Travis' continued seizure activity. Like many people with head injuries, Travis does not respond to seizure meds. It seems the side effects make him more uncomfortable then the seizure activity in his brain and some actually made his seizure activity worse. I really could see at the time that he responded to acupuncture but the benefits of it wore off quickly. We discontinued the therapy when we left the Health Restoration Clinic in Mission Viejo. In hindsight, I wish we had tried the vitamin supplements via the blood stream with the hyperbaric oxygen instead of the acupuncture. I believe that the HBOT is a good start up for other therapies.
