Ryan's Story:

Ryan was at a friend's house playing with their son, Shayden.  Shayden's dad went inside to finish the boys' lunch.  He came back outside and didn't see the boys.  He looked over the 6' brick wall and saw both the boys face down in the water .   He called 911 and did CPR on both the boys the best he could until the rescue crew arrived.  They were taken by ambulance to the local hospital where they were revived after about 1/2 - 1 hour.  They were both flown by helicopter to Tucson.  The prognosis there was not good at all.  The docs said our boys would probably not survive the night.  Well they both proved them wrong.  Ryan had some swelling of the brain and seizures from the first night on.  The seizures were controlled by meds.  A few weeks after the accident, the neurologist told me our son would never wake up.  Well he did!  I found this web page shortly after the accident.  I first found out about the hyperbaric chamber here.  We asked the docs about it, and they agreed to start treatments on him.  He had 20 treatments there, then we were transferred to Phoenix for rehab.  We plan on continuing the treatments once he gets out of rehab.
