In my opinion, the FGF2 injections prevents neurotransmitters activity from decreasing. In other words it prolongs cell life to give them a chance to create the pathways needed to increase development.  With our kids injury the pathways are damaged and "misfire" causing seizure tendencies. Increasing cell survival gives us a chance to create and maintain a connection before the cell weakens and deteriorates.
