Jake's Story:

There is nothing that can measure the amount of sadness you are feeling.  There is also guilt anger, blame and fear. As time passes you need to find a place in your heart and mind to put these feelings so they are not out on top all the time. So you have control and you can bring them out when you can deal with them. You will have to use all your energy to help your
child. You have to keep a positive outlook because your child will sense what you are feeling. If you have other children, they will see how strong and brave you are and they will follow your example. We are all survivors and down deep inside we have the courage to carry on. We put one foot in front of the other and we do it one day at a time.
