Pet therapy has proven to be an excellent therapy for all people, brain
injured, elderly, handicapped, and stressed out caregivers. Animals
give unconditional love.
Dogs have been trained as “helpers”; carrying books, leading blind,
hearing for deaf. For people with allergies, pigs are an excellent
alternative. Pigs are more stubborn than dogs, but can do most of
tasks dogs perform and only shed once or twice a year.

For information on adopting another type of pet, please contact your local
animal shelter. Many good animals need homes. Specific breeds
are often found at animal shelters along with mixed breeds and baby
animals.

My daughter loves all animals and has great joy riding horses, watching
her fish, petting her mouse, sleeping with her cats, and lying with her
dog. She loves pigs, ferrets, frogs, and anything else non-human!
(Due to the size of our house and since we’re in a residential
neighborhood, we can’t have the zoo Devon wants!) She relaxes,
smiles, giggles, and feels all the different textures of the animals.
If you have a child like mine, an animal will be good stimulation.
