Raeanne's Story:

October 16th 2003 is a day that changed my families lives forever. That is the day my twins were found in our backyard pool. Brandon sadly passed away about 2 hours later but by the grace of God Raeanne was revived. She had a pulse when the paramedics arrived!!! After she was transferred to Arnold Palmer Hospital for woman and Children. We were told to say good bye to Raeanne because she was not going to make it through the night.

Well, little did they know that my little girl had other plans. She hung in there and made it through the next big stage and that was to breath on her own. ( we were also told to say our good-byes that day). This is something that we were not expecting.  We all said our good-byes and daddy held her for what we thought were going to be her final moments. Once again she proved the doctors wrong. The doctor was so amazed that he just kept coming in our room and shaking his head.

Raeanne spent 33 days in the hospital.  When we left the hospital it was like bringing  home a newborn baby. Raeanne had lost the ability to do the things she once did. It is now almost a year later and let me tell you about the miracles I have seen. Raeanne now smiles, can swallow  is not in any way as spastic as she was, she actually has tears when she cries, is not blind and can defiantly hear. She is now starting to get verbal and has even said "mama".She is currently working on the switch and doing well with it. She is rolling to her side and can almost get on her stomach. The head control part is coming a little slow but she is trying really hard. From a lying position she can lift her head and torso to a sitting up position. She can't hold it there but in time she will. She understands a lot that I say to her.
This progress to a normal person might seem like nothing. But remember this is from a child that was never going to live and was told if she did make it she would be in a coma state for the rest of her life.  If there is one piece of advice that I could give you it would be to Never Give Up!!!!
